Your health as a woman deserves a space of trust. At Clínica Hispana Cruz 2 we offer gynecology care in Spanish in north Houston: Pap smears, well-woman exams, cultures and infection treatment, with no appointment and no health insurance needed.

What does the gynecology visit include?

  • Pap smear (cervical cytology)
  • Gynecological checkup and well-woman exam
  • Vaginal cultures to identify infections
  • Treatment of yeast and bacterial vaginal infections
  • Evaluation of abnormal discharge, itching, burning or pain
  • Pregnancy and STD testing in the same visit
  • Referral to a specialist when needed

What is a Pap smear and when should I get one?

A Pap smear takes a sample of cells from the cervix to detect changes before they turn into cancer. It takes a few minutes and does not require fasting. As a general rule it is recommended from age 21 and repeated every three years if the result is normal; the doctor adjusts the frequency to your age and history. Avoid scheduling it during your period, and avoid intercourse, douching or vaginal creams in the 48 hours before. Results are delivered within a few days: we let you know and explain what they mean.

How much does a Pap smear cost without insurance?

You don't need health insurance. We offer self-pay pricing and tell you the cost before your visit. We also usually have women's health packages: for example, the Women's Checkup with Ultrasound for $179 includes a Pap smear, pelvic ultrasound, urine test and medical consultation, and the Women's Intimate Health package for $69 includes a culture, consultation and urine test. Promotional prices may change; check the promotions page or call us to confirm.

I have discharge, itching or odor. What should I do?

These are signs of a possible yeast or bacterial vaginal infection. During the visit we evaluate your symptoms, take a culture if needed and, in most cases, you leave with treatment the same day. If you also feel burning when you urinate or a constant urge to go, we run a urine test to rule out a urinary tract infection.

What is a well-woman exam?

It is a yearly preventive visit that includes a review of your history, a Pap smear when due, symptom evaluation and guidance on contraception, family planning and sexual health. If needed, it is completed with blood tests or an ultrasound.

Do I need an appointment or insurance?

No. We welcome walk-ins Monday to Sunday from 9 AM to 9 PM; if you prefer a set time, call us and we'll reserve it. No insurance needed: we accept cash, debit and credit cards. All care, from the front desk to the exam room, is in Spanish.
