An alcohol and drug test checks whether alcohol or certain substances are in your system, using a sample collected here at the clinic. Companies ask for it when hiring, employers use it to screen staff and some people need it for personal matters; at Clínica Hispana Cruz 2 we run the test and give you a written result.
That depends on who's asking for the test. Panels commonly used by employers cover marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates and other common drugs, and the alcohol test is added when the employer requires it. If your company wants a specific panel, bring the request in writing and we'll tell you whether we can run it.
Some prescription medicines, such as certain strong painkillers or pills for anxiety or sleep, can show up on a panel. That's no reason to hide them: listing them before the test lets the result be read correctly. Some cold remedies and poppy seeds can also cause confusion, so mention those too.
You and the person or company that requested the test; nobody else. We explain it in Spanish or English and hand you the document so you can present it wherever you need it. If your job also requires a DOT physical, ask whether you can take care of both in the same visit.
Yes. Some people want it for a family matter, for peace of mind or before applying for a job. In that case we explain what the panel covers and the result is yours alone.
The clinic is at 13331 Kuykendahl Rd Ste 128, between Champions and Greenspoint. If your new job gave you a tight window to get tested, walk in any day between 9 AM and 9 PM; we tell you the price before collecting the sample, and you can check our current promotions.
