Flu and Tetanus (Tdap) Vaccines

Which one do you need?

• Flu: worth getting every year, ideally before flu season picks up in the fall
• Flu: even more so if you live with babies, older relatives or someone chronically ill
• Tetanus: if you can't remember when your last booster was
• Tetanus: if you were cut by metal, wood or something dirty, say on a job site or in the yard

What happens at the visit?

Before the shot, the medical team asks whether you have a fever today, whether you have ever reacted badly to a vaccine and whether you have any allergies. Then they decide whether to go ahead now or wait. The injection goes in your arm, and afterward we ask you to sit in the waiting area for a little while before you leave.

Is it normal to feel something afterward?

A sore or slightly swollen arm where the needle went in is common, and some people feel a bit tired. It usually fades on its own. If you have trouble breathing, swelling in your face or hives all over your body, get emergency care right away.

Got a cut and not sure you're covered?

If you come in with a wound, the team checks the injury and your booster history in the same visit. If the cut needs stitches, we handle it through wound suturing; if it's already closed but needs watching, through wound care.

What should you bring, and what does it cost?

Bring your vaccine card or any record of past shots; it shows what's missing. No insurance needed: we tell you the price of each vaccine before giving it, and you can pay with cash or card. Flu vaccine supply depends on the season, so call our Kuykendahl Rd office to confirm before heading over. Doors open daily from 9 AM until 9 PM.
